“The resource was very positive and useful to back up discussions and presentations. We used it when Year 9 were making their option choices… we have a strong option take up next year and I think the professional looking leaflet with clear pathways about music and positive messages about GCSE really helped.”
Debbie Workman, Head of Music at Hardenhuish School
“Support from Wiltshire Music Connect has helped us to increase GCSE numbers for 2019/2020 by nearly 50% and this has meant we will now have 2 classes. There are many factors behind this increase, but I do believe the Ukulele work funded by Wiltshire Music Connect, has contributed.”
Holly Kenvin, Head of Music at St John’s Marlborough
Footnotes:
- First Access, Ensembles, Progression Routes, or Singing – see www.wiltshiremusicconnect.org.uk/about/hub-roles.
- The principle of First Access (FA) music also known as wider opportunities or Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET), is to provide whole classes or groups with the opportunity to experience and enjoy music making for the first time.
We provide support for First Access through a mix of subsidy, resources, advice and training.
