Subsidy for Vocal and Instrumental tuition outside of school
We are now extending our tuition subsidy offer to Associates who feel particular pupils need their tuition outside of school
We’re committed to offering all children and young people the opportunity to learn to play and make music regardless of their circumstances. Wherever possible, we want to see this take place in and through schools.
We are aware, however, that sometimes this isn’t possible in ways that best suit pupils’ needs and so it needs to happen outside of school.
The subsidy will support two groups of pupils:
Those eligible for Free School Meals/Pupil Premium/Special Educational Needs or Disability will be entitled to 45% subsidy on a 20 or 30 min lesson
Pupils who are Looked After by Wiltshire Council who will be eligible to 100% subsidy for a 20 or 30 min lesson.
If you have a pupil who cannot access their tuition in a suitable way at school and may be entitled to access this scheme, please contact us for details.
Wiltshire Music Connect is working in partnership with the Virtual School and Wiltshire Rural Music School to make this possible.
This is not to encourage a shift in tuition away from schools, but to recognise the variety of ways children and young people are engaging and learning about music.
