Running a music club
A FREE downloadable resource for primary schools
This resource, written by Neil Valentine, provides a template for running a Primary School Music Club – an open access, inclusive music club for children who already play a musical instrument, but also for those who don’t. We hope it will encourage new ideas and ways of working that enhance equity, diversity and inclusion and embrace a wider range of instruments, styles and players.
The idea is that, using this resource, primary schools could invite any children (regardless of prior experience or ability) to join a lunch-time or after-school Music Club and engage them in fun and inclusive, group music-making activities. It’s a blueprint for a Primary School Music Club that encourages collaborative music-making, improvisation and composition for mixed instruments and abilities.
