Winter Resources in the Pipeline…

As we head towards the summer holidays you probably aren’t thinking about Christmas yet.  But we are!  Wiltshire Music Connect has commissioned some exciting new winter resources to spice up your Christmas repertoire and inspire creative music and song-writing in your classrooms.

We wanted to let you know that the following resources will be heading your way, free of charge, in the autumn.

Brand New Seasonal Song for Wiltshire
Singer / songwriter Luke Gittins is writing a new seasonal song for us that Wiltshire schools will be able learn and sing in the run up to Christmas this year.  So, if you’re fed up with the usual Christmas repertoire why not think about trying something new?  Luke is creating an upbeat, joyful and inclusive song that we think children across Wiltshire will love.

Create Winter Themed Music with your KS2 Class
By David Garcia
David’s new video resources will enable you to create music, inspired by winter, in your KS2 classes. Suitable for all levels of musical ability in pupils and teachers alike. The creative music making will take inspiration from your local area and aim to produce anything from a song with live accompanying musicians, to a rhythmic cacophony using objects found in the classroom.

Winter Songwriting Resources for Secondary Schools
By Tim Gilvin
Tim’s Winter Songwriting Resources for secondary age musicians will provide a step-by-step song-writing process, as well as exercises to help young musicians develop as song-writers. The topics explored will include InspirationWriting a HookLyricsMelodyHarmony and Structure.  The exercises and resources will be adaptable to group and solo projects.

We can’t wait to share these resources with you in the autumn!
