The future of Wiltshire’s Music Hub

Latest news on the music hub investment programme UPDATED 13.05.2024

We want to let all our stakeholders know that our bid to lead the HLO (Music Hub Lead Organisation) for Wiltshire, Swindon and Gloucestershire has not been successful.  The winning bid, from a consortium led by Gloucestershire County Council received a higher score.

Back in September 2023 we explained to you why, having engaged optimistically in protracted discussions, we had chosen to step back from the proposed consortium and go it alone. We’re sure that since then, and in order to win the bid, our colleagues in the winning consortium will have developed a robust plan.

At this stage we are not aware of what plans they have for Wiltshire or which elements of Wiltshire Music Connect’s collective offer might be retained.

That will become clear in the coming weeks and months and we are doing our best to clarify things for you. Whilst things are a little unclear for September onwards, we have been assured by Arts Council England that their priority is to maintain continuity of provision for young people. So, while we wait to hear from the new HLO, it’s business as usual for Wiltshire Schools and Associates in delivering work for the remainder of the current academic year.
