Wiltshire Jazz Academy
14 September @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
What is it?
A monthly session aimed at young musicians wanting to develop their jazz skills
Performance opportunities
Public performances are a highlight of Wiltshire Jazz Academy, including at Wiltshire Youth Jazz Orchestra concerts and local music festivals
Do you love jazz and want to improve your improvisation, performance and ensemble skills?
Come along to Wiltshire Jazz Academy – casual monthly sessions led by jazz tutor Mike Daniels, NYJO Ambassador Rod Oughton and our own alumni members. We welcome musicians aged 12-18 who are playing confidently (approximately Grade 4 or equivalent). You do not need to have experience in performing jazz music to join and the sessions are open to all instrumentalists.
The ensemble was created in partnership with NYJO as a Regional Academy to provide more opportunity in the South West for young people to access high quality jazz tuition. It provides a perfect progression route to joining Wiltshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, and is a valuable opportunity for jazz musicians at all stages of their development.
A monthly session, starting 14.09.24
Saturdays, 10am – 1pm
