Interesting Sounds – What’s on the instrument trolley
The music trolley can sometimes contain a jumble of instruments and consequently produce a jumble of difficult to control noises! This session will explore some of the instruments we use in primary schools and how we can encourage our KS1 and KS2 children to produce good quality sounds from them, while learning skills and techniques encouraged by the new National Plan for Music Education.
Participants will take away:
- A broader knowledge and awareness of essential instruments which can be used to make quality sounds in the primary classroom
- Ways to use instruments to encourage accompaniment of songs, rhymes, raps, short stories, and poems.
- Ideas for using the instruments to improvise and make stand-alone compositions on a variety of themes.
