Over 200 young musicians make music at the Salisbury Area Young Musicians’ First Access Music Festival!

There was an exciting morning of music making at Salisbury City Hall on Tuesday 11 July with over 200 young musicians taking part in a First Access Music Festival. The event was made possible with sponsorship from Salisbury based travel company On Foot Holidays.

Players from Woodlands, Manor Fields, St Martin’s, Wilton and Barford and St Osmund’s Primary Schools playing violins, violas, clarinets and flutes performed in the spectacular event.

The young musicians had prepared pieces to perform as individual schools and also as a mass item.  With a body percussion workshop and performances from the SAYM ‘Strop’ Orchestra and the Minerva String Quartet the pupils were kept highly entertained for the morning.

First Access music gives pupils the opportunity to learn an instrument in a whole class setting as opposed to individual lessons.
