Simon Roe

I am an accomplished drummer experienced with performing live and recording in a studio setting. I have performed at the Isle of Wight Festival 3 years running and have released music on to streaming platforms.

Having recently completed my degree at Chichester University studying Commercial Music (graduating with a 2:1) I am more than capable of providing individual drumming lessons and enjoy doing so.

I have a couple years of teaching experience and teach from the ages of 5 and above through to adults. The focus of my lessons consist of learning a variety of covers, rudiments, and drum patterns some of which are featured in Rock School/Trinity grade books.

Drum exams are not my priority but if students wish to take any qualifications I am happy to train and prepare them for doing so.

What I / we help young people achieve

I aim to inspire my students in wanting a better understanding of music and to develop their skills as well as having a growing passion for music. I also encourage all students to participate in music events and opportunities where possible including playing as part of a band with friends.

I aim to expose students to a variety of styles and discover new music, as well as recommending any bands/musicians or local gigs they may have an interest in.

I can prepare students when taking music related qualifications such as Rock School Or Trinity exams and intend to do so whilst maintaining a high pass rate.

For any students that are considering studying music at a higher level I am aim to give my input, based on my experience to help them with achieving their goals.

My Training & Development

I regularly practice and create music to work with various projects I’m involved in, as well as strict practice routines to improve my own playing ability.

In regards to teaching, I keep myself up to date with effective methods or resources and discuss them with other teachers to get an idea of what’s working well and to keep my lesson planning current.
