I am a violin/viola teacher with more than 25 years of experience teaching pupils from beginner to diploma standard.
As a qualified teacher and performer (degree/ PGCE/ orchestral diploma/M.Ed) my teaching was consistently graded as ‘outstanding’ in performance management observations whilst working for the Wiltshire Music Service. I have experience of and am able to teach individual , small group and first access lessons.
I work with ensembles from beginner to youth orchestra standard both in Wiltshire and beyond.
What I / we help young people achieve
Recognised for the enthusiasm, energy and humour in my work I teach in both primary and secondary phase.
I use a range of material and teaching strategies that engage and motivate pupils.
I have a very pupil centred approach to my work. For example I have had pupils that have reached diploma level during their time at school and pupils who have simply enjoyed making music with no interest in taking grades.
The emphasis is on enjoyment in music making and exploring the potential in all!
