Patrick Randall

I am a professional guitarist and musician working in a wide number of projects and genres. I have been teaching and working with young people for in excess of 15 years.

My qualifications include a Grade 8 in guitar and a BA Honours in Performing Arts (Music).

I teach in schools and privately.  Private teaching is conducted in my fully equipped studio.

I am DBS (Enhanced) checked and have undertaken Safeguarding Training.

I have a flexible but comprehensive approach to teaching the guitar.  Styles taught range from Classical to Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country.

I take beginner students through a fun and rewarding introduction to the guitar.

Young students then move on to a structured system using the Guitarists Way (Peter Nuttall)

Students wishing to study for classical grades are taken on to the Trinity syllabus.

I also teach the Rock School syllabus.

I devise and deliver out-of-school clubs and groups; currently setting up a folk group in the Pewsey Vale to enable young guitarists to play with other instruments and musicians in an ensemble environment.

What I / we help young people achieve

I encourage and promote a personal approach to learning. Each student is taught the most suitable programme for themselves. I monitor and observe progress and modify programmes accordingly - constantly asking students to self-evaluate and feedback. It is key that students enjoy their learning and thus find it easier to improve and motivate themselves using the vast array of tools available. This helps build confidence and a desire to succeed.
