Matthew Hind
About
Member of Salisbury Area Music Co-operative. I am a specialist Brass teacher with over 18 years experience teaching Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Cornet, Tenor Horn, Baritone, Euphonium and Tuba.
I started playing the trumpet at the age of 9 with lessons from the music service in Somerset. I went on to study with Paul Denegri and later Roger Webster at Leeds University. Whilst on the music course there, I took up conducting with lessons from Eno Koço and also directed the University music society’s Sinfonia for two years.
During my time working for Wiltshire Music Service, I taught pupils of all abilities from Beginner to Grade 8 and beyond, from both primary and secondary schools across the south of the county. I am experienced in teaching jazz and classical styles and also in delivering First Access whole class projects with brass and recorder.
I have performed with orchestras, jazz ensembles, shows and wind bands both as a player and a conductor and I am currently the director of the SAYM Intermediate Wind Band.
