My name is Debbie Rickhuss and I teach piano ranging from beginner to Grade 8. I have been teaching for over 30 years and currently work in three different schools at both primary and secondary level. I have prepared students for ABRSM and also Trinity exam boards and I have a very high pass rate and many of my students also gain Merits or Distinctions. I work with secondary school music departments to help KS4 students prepare for their GCSE and BTEC performances. I also teach the theory of music. I have taught KS1 and KS2 classroom music for the past 8 years as well.
What I / we help young people achieve
I am constantly looking at new books and software to help motivate childrens interest in music. I have years of experience at putting children through ABRSM grade exams and I also like to take time away from exam material to explore different genres such as jazz, popular music and duets. I have a broad repertoire to offer students but am also happy to confer with music department staff (especially in secondary schools) regarding appropriate pieces for KS4 music students.

Musical Clusters Covered
I can highly recommend Debbie Rickhuss for piano teaching in your school. Our students have taken to her extremely well and her student numbers are growing every term. She is extremely positive and encouraging to the students and knows her material both grades and other, inside out. We have had great feedback from students and parents.
