Luke Gittins
About
My name is Luke Gittins,
I am a guitar teacher based in North Wiltshire. I have been playing guitar for 10 years. I studied Music Performance at Bath College. Guitar has always been something that has brought me much enjoyment and the opportunity to pass that enjoyment on is something that is a privilege. I also play Piano, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Drums and I sing.
My teaching ethos is to work in a personalised way allowing students to explore music of their preference. In my opinion, a student will always learn better in an environment that feels fun and comfortable.
I am a singer/songwriter in a band that has played all around the country. Over the last 3 years I have played over 300 gigs. This wide range of gigs has taught me so much about playing guitar. Whether that is; how to play live, how to accompany other musicians, how to play a huge variety of songs or how to act in a professional way. My aim is to pass on the experience and skills I have learnt to all my students.
Please contact me if you have any queries.
What I / we help young people achieve
Alongside helping my students work towards guitar grades, I also tailor each lesson to individuals tastes. This enables them to learn music which motivates them.
As a singer/songwriter I can help students develop their creative abilities and I actively encourage singing alongside the guitar pieces we learn. This is something that I think really benefits my students learning and develops a new side of their musical ability.
My performance experience paired with my technical ability allows me to teach a wide range of contemporary and classic songs.
I believe that learning to play an instrument can have a positive impact on students self confidence and benefits other areas of learning.
