Jordan Calvert Drum Tuition
Drum Kit tutor (Private and Peripatetic) – Spaces available!
I thrive in crafting lessons that are both fun and exciting for students of all ages, abilities and educational needs, creating a balance between focusing on technique, grades, grooves, styles and learning favourite songs whilst helping to build self confidence and well-being.
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching the drum kit both privately and in primary schools as a peripatetic tutor for the last four years and currently teach 50+ weekly students. I am a hard working, determined and mature individual, with excellent communication skills and I have a positive, friendly and approachable attitude. I believe that I will be a positive asset to any school due to my passion for pupil development and ability to provide a lesson plan that inspires creativity.

What I / we help young people achieve
Students that have taken lessons from myself have gone on to achieve grade exams with both Rock School and Trinity College. They have also been involved in bands with their peers having learnt how to play within a band context. Each student also has the opportunity to perform in school assemblies and concerts, after which they have often informed me of how proud of themselves they are. Both teachers and parents have also reported an increase in their children's well- being and confidence after taking part in lessons. This, to me, is proof that my lessons are having a positive impact on my students.

My Training & Development
I have a BA Hon’s Commercial Music degree, grade 5 theory, grade 8 drums with two exam boards and experience performing, recording and writing parts on the drum kit.
I have taught SEN individuals for 3 years including children with autism, extra emotional and social needs, children with physical disabilities and adults with Downs Syndrome.
I have undertaken child protection training through the NSPCC and also have experience working with children through church youth groups.
I keep up to date with other tutors and watch other tutors on platforms such as youtube in order to learn how I can communicate more effectively in lessons. Other than playing in regular projects such as a function band, and recording for artists, I am currently seeking other ways to train as a tutor in order to develop my skills.
