About
I teach music at Bishop Wordsworth’s Grammar School for Boys in Salisbury. As well as delivering the KS3, GCSE and A Level Music Curriculum, I am Director of the school orchestra and assistant Director of the school choir.
I am a member of Salisbury Area Music Co-operative. I have nineteen years’ experience working in primary and secondary schools across Wiltshire, teaching clarinet, flute, saxophone and recorder in whole class, small group and individual settings. I have also directed ensembles in schools and as part of Salisbury Area Young Musicians.
I studied clarinet and piano at the Royal Northern College of Music, and then completed a PGCE in Secondary Music at The Open University.
I have a wide experience of playing professionally in orchestras, big bands, musical theatre and chamber groups.
What I / we help young people achieve
I have excellent relationships with pupils, parents and schools.
Music improves numeracy, literacy, confidence, team work and mental health. I am passionate about music and love passing this on to my pupils.
