Emily Isaac Johnson
Emily started the cello at age 6 and gained a scholarship to Wells Cathedral School aged 11 years. From there she continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music in London. She graduated in 1996 with a BMUS (hons) degree and immediately embarked on an incredibly successful freelance career playing regularly with many of the U.K.’s leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia, Royal Opera House, BBC Symphony and Concert Orchestras and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside her playing career Emily has held a teaching post with the Hertfordshire Music Service (2001-2006) and then with the Wiltshire Music Service since 2009 as well as teaching privately since 1996.
She has now also taken up a teaching post at Marlborough College and St Margaret’s Preparatory School.
