BIO
DJ started teaching in 2005 in addition to coaching youth groups at the famed Rock School run by the Swindon Music Service, helping to form and mentor some of the up-and-coming names on the local music scene.
He has been classically trained in guitar, including Spanish styles, and can teach up to and beyond Grade 8, having been successful himself in all the grades. He has great technical ability and a real vocation for music.
DJ does also work for Swindon Music Service, delivering new projects in local schools and inspiring the next generation to over 15 schools weekly! He also teaches ukulele and has a working knowledge of Music ICT. As well as teaching guitar at preparatory schools, he is also employed by a local school as their main ‘rock/pop’ music teacher, helping children to learn contemporary instruments.
Having a broad musical influence, he is currently working on various projects, including his 8 piece reggae band SNDubstation, and he is currently working in various other projects, whom he will be touring with next summer. He has toured belgium with his youth project, and has spent time working as a session musician for various reputable brands.
DJ can also give assistance in songwriting and composing, and offers this service frequently to bands who need new material.
DJ also has a teaching endorsement with Fret King Guitars , Rotosound Strings and Rock and Roll Music Store
What I / we help young people achieve
We always inspire, encourage and create musical progress. All lessons are suited to the type of learner and the learner outcomes. Lessons are always made to be fun to help build a passion and enjoyment for learning music.
There are plenty of performance opportunities. We have end of term concerts where over one hundred of our students perform at the all day events raising money for charity.
We also encourage students to take graded exams for a natural progression route. This helps students to push their skills further.
