David Hynds
About
I have been teaching for over ten years. In those ten years I have taught from ages 6 – 86, and on a large variety of instruments.
Since graduating from the University of Surrey in 2006 I have been working with children in educational institutions, from Primary schools up to Sixth Form students. This has given me the experience to be able to work with any age of student.
During my years as Musical Director for various musical theatre societies I have also worked with large groups of young people in ensemble settings, both as part of youth-only productions of shows, and also as smaller roles in full-cast musicals.
What I / we help young people achieve
During my decade of teaching I have noticed that students have become more emotionally lucid, and have developed socially with confidence. With my Musical Director work with the musical theatre world, I have seen many, many shy and withdrawn children come out of their shells and blossomed into outgoing and confident young people.

My Training & Development
Working with a large number of other tutors whilst teaching at All Instruments Music School (TMW MUSIC SCHOOL) we regularly hold in-depth discussions about teaching methods and new ideas that we’ve been working on with our students. Because of the variety of instruments taught at this school, there are a large number of methods from which we are able to draw ideas for developing our teaching
As a member of the Musician’s Union; I have access to the regularly published magazine, which often contains articles about new ideas in teaching, with interviews with leading tutors. These often promote new discussion within the group of tutors.
