Cheri Wallace

Having taught for the Wiltshire Music Service for the last 22 years it has been a pleasure teaching in many schools around Wiltshire. I have delivered one to one, small group and whole class teaching as well as delivering multi-cultural composition projects. Flute, recorder, clarinet, saxophone and oboe are taught to grade 8 standard and beyond in both the traditional and jazz exam syllabi. My qualifications incldue a BA (Hons) Music, MMUS, PGCE, FRSM.

What I / we help young people achieve

Passionate about music, I perform regularly and love playing my instruments every day. It is my belief that if you expect your students to practise then you should lead by example. It's this passion and fun that enables me to share with others. My students understand the importance of practice and its impact on progression. Music is a powerful tool for learning all subjects as research has shown that learning an instrument increases your IQ. It has also shown that those who learn an instrument are statisically more likely to live a longer and healthier life.

‘Throughout this academic year our KS2 pupils have benefited from an exceptionally high quality music experience delivered by Cheri Richens (Wallace). Her enthusiasm, engagement and musical skills has meant that our children have thoroughly enjoyed their musical and have had the opportunity to perform and show off their skills to their parents and their peers. Cheri’s commitment to our school goes over and above what I expected and I’m delighted to be purchasing increased musical provision from her in 2015/16. I can recommend her to you unreservedly.
