Carmen Tunney
About
I have 15 years experience teaching the violin in schools and privately from beginner to Grade 8 level with ages varying from 5 years to college graduates.
I aim to provide access to varying styles of music such as classical, folk and jazz and offer opportunities to perform in solo and ensemble concerts. There is also an incentive to work towards formal examinations and to study musical repertoire.
I have a BA Hons Music degree from Leeds University and a PGCE from Bath Spa University.
What I / we help young people achieve
As Leader of the Trowbridge Symphony Orchestra I am always keen for young musicians to have the possibility of playing in a larger ensemble and to tackle more ambitious pieces.
We have a growing number of young people doing so and finding the experience satisfying and challenging.
