About
I have a been teaching brass instruments and working as a professional trombone player since 2016. I have a relaxed approach to teaching whilst maintaining a focus on progression.
I have lots of experience playing in ensembles of various styles such as orchestras, big bands, wind bands, jazz ensembles, pit bands, brass bands, wedding/function bands and play regularly with a New Orleans style brass band.
I received a first in BA Music from university, specialising in trombone performance.
I am assistant conductor of the West Wiltshire Youth Orchestra and lead the Prep Wind Band at Warminster School.
What I / we help young people achieve
I encourage students to take exams as they are a useful way of measuring progress and provide a performance opportunity for their hard work. I don't believe that exams are the be-all or end-all and am equally happy not to go down the exam route.
I encourage students to take part in as many ensembles and performance opportunities as they can to help with their musical development and confidence in playing.
I have a 100% pass rate for exams.
