Anna Glover
About
I have been working as a piano teacher for six years, teaching students of all ages and abilities. I teach classical and pop and I am happy to teach whichever style the student would prefer. I have helped many students prepare for graded exams and I have a 100% success rate, with the majority achieving a Merit or higher. It is, however, completely up to my students whether or not they wish to go down the exam route, and I am more than happy to just teach for pleasure and their own personal development. My lessons are very relaxed and friendly but always with a focus on learning and improving skills. I want my students to feel as comfortable as possible whilst also having lots of fun and making progress. Alongside piano I am also able to teach theory up to Grade 5.
I am also a specialist music teaching assistant in a local primary school and I have over three years experience of working in the education sector. I have assisted in delivering music lessons and have delivered whole class music lessons myself. As well as this I have experience in teaching ukulele to a whole class and to smaller groups.
I graduated with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Music degree from Bath Spa University in 2017 and I passed my Grade 8 piano in 2014.
What I / we help young people achieve
I strongly believe that music is one of the most important subjects for young people to learn. Music helps to develop the confidence and self-esteem of young people and I feel very privileged to be a part of that. Through constant encouragement and support, my students make incredible progress in their lessons and their understanding of music theory is fantastic. Having studied community music practice at university I have always ensured I am conscious of the individual needs, interests and goals of my students in both one-to-one and group contexts, meaning I am highly adaptable in my teaching. Providing music education in an engaging and comfortable environment provides young people with a vital form of self expression, as well as a means by which they can grow in confidence, developing social and communication skills through an activity they enjoy. I therefore always ensure I am teaching in a way that is accessible, enjoyable and appropriately challenging to my students, giving them the best possible introduction to music and all its joys.

Endorsements
“Anna is a naturally gifted teacher. She has been teaching our 10 year old for 1.5 years now and our 5 year old for 6 months. She has an incredible intuition how to adapt her style to suit their age, interest and speed of learning to bring out the best in each one of them. Both our children have been so positive and motivated about music and are always keen to practise and prepare for the next lesson! Anna seems to effortlessly make their lessons both productive and fun at the same time and, as a result, our older one has achieved tremendous progress in his musical journey and ABRSM exam successes. His little brother is also progressing at a great rate and looks forward to preparing for his first grade exam. I highly recommend Anna to any parent looking for a caring and enthusiastic teacher who works very well with children.” (parent of a student)
