About

I have 12 years of teaching experience, working at The Mead Primary School (Trowbridge) and The Royal High School (Bath).  I currently have a large rosta of students receiving 1 on 1 tuition, and I have also worked as an associate lecturer in guitar performance skills at Bath Spa University delivering lectures on the course I used to study!

I studied Commercial Music at Bath Spa University, graduating in 2006 with a BA(Hons) degree.  Since leaving this course, as well as teaching I have been an active musician – playing in several bands and running many successful gigs and open mic nights.

I am also an in-demand live sound engineer so when not teaching or playing I will be manning a  mixing desk most nights in venues across Bristol and Bath.

What I / we help young people achieve

I started teaching guitar so that I could pass on the love for the instrument that I have to younger people.

Through fun, structured and individually tailored lessons, I hope to provide a basis for a lifelong love of music.

I encourage my students to progress through the grade system, either with the Trinity Rock and Pop syllabus or the Rockschool grades. I have a proud 100% pass rate record.

My Training & Development

I am always aiming to improve my knowledge of my instruments, both through research and my own practice!

I initially received my teacher training through Yamaha Music Schools and try to keep up to date with new teaching methods.

I regularly catch up with teaching colleagues to discuss new ideas and teaching practices.

I am up to date with all safeguarding policies.
