West African Drumming
A short 5 week course of West African drumming led by Stefano Vandelli. Suitable for all abilities. Drums are available free of charge.
During the course Stefano will guide you through the exploration of simple and complex, West African traditional rhythms using both the Djembe and the accompanying Dun-Dun drums. He will provide a brief explanation as to the origins of each rhythm and its traditional significance and usage. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an intermediate player, you will be encouraged to express yourself at a level that is fun and challenging in equal measure.
Stefano is an experienced drummer/musician and has been facilitating West Africa drumming workshops for many years as well as performing and collaborating with many talented musicians and projects, including: Batch Gueye Band, Ballet Nimba, Mpe-Asem, More Than Wood and the Baba Tubab collective among others.
