POSTPONED Using chords and harmony in songwriting
Wiltshire Secondary School bite size teacher training: 8th AND 15th July 3pm-3.45pm
These two online sessions are suitable for any Wiltshire secondary school teacher (of ANY subject) who enjoys writing music or songs – or has ideas for tunes or songs, and would like to add chords and harmonies. You don’t have to be a music teacher – maybe you play in a band in your spare time, or just enjoy making music at home, or in a community group.
This session is ideal for someone who would like some fresh ideas on how to use chords, harmonies and arrangement to get the most out of their work. As part of the training you will be given a short task to create a new arrangement of something (probably a song) you are working on. You will upload your work to a private soundcloud account (not generally accessible to the public) for feedback and suggestions to develop what you have created.
To take part in this CPD you will ideally be able to play an instrument that uses chords (eg. piano, guitar or ukelele) to a basic level. Some knowledge of music theory would be helpful but not essential.
Dates: Session 1 Weds 8th July 3pm-3.45pm Session 2 Weds 15th July 3pm-3.45pm Each participant is offered 1 x 10min surgery between sessions for additional one-to-one support, guidance and problem-solving.
