Five Simple Steps for Songwriting
Salisbury SP5 2SU
‘Five Simple Steps for Songwriting’ is a 90 minute practical, hands on workshop for those teaching or supporting music in primary or secondary school. The aim is that you will take away some useful tools and techniques which you can apply in your classroom straight away. Whether you have never used songwriting in your lessons or whether you are interested in exploring a different approach, this workshop offers resources which have been tried and tested with children and young people in key stages 2-5 of all ages and abilities. Bring an instrument if you like. All participants will be encouraged to sing.
Louise Jordan is a songwriter and performer as well as a freelance workshop leader and qualified teacher. She currently works with Zone Arts at Salisbury Arts Centre facilitating songwriting workshops with young people and adults aged 16yrs+ with learning disabilities and recently complete a youth songwriting project ‘Never Had They Ever’ about women’s experiences of the First World War funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Wiltshire Music Connect.
