Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra inspires primary school children
St Edmund’s Girls School hosts transition project for local primary schools in the Salisbury and Wilton area.
On 4 July over 70 primary school pupils visited St Edmund’s Girls School to take part in a composition workshop led by members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. The children had the opportunity to hear the musicians perform and then worked with them on creating their own pieces. Using the children’s own composition ideas inspired by Greigs, Peer Gynt Suite the BSO members worked with the children to create a musical story. The day culminated in an informal concert for parents, which was a great opportunity to show off their amazing work.
