Introduction
There were 68,889 children and young people in 238 Wiltshire schools during the academic year 2018– 2019. And we’re delighted to say that we worked with 92% of these schools during the time-frame covered by this report.
During the year, our small Hub team worked strategically to enable music education in the county: working with schools, Associates (freelance music leaders), music organisations, parents, Council departments and others who work with children and young people.
As a result, we again saw music education strengthen and develop in Wiltshire and this is borne out by the information and data presented in the links on the right-hand side of this page.
Our ability to collect data has improved, and our communications with stakeholders has deepened. This means that we know more about what’s going on in Wiltshire than ever before, and we’re better placed to direct resources to where they’re most needed.
We believe that this strategic, collaborative, approach is the right one for Wiltshire and supports the music education ecology to thrive.
